  2439. ``Dtfile*appHeight: %%height%%<newline>

2441. <p indent>Specifies the default size of an Application Manager

2443. pixels. The default height is ``365''; the default width is ``365''.
  2444. ``Dtfile*checkBrokenLink: %%seconds%%''
2445. <p indent>Specifies the time interval (in seconds) that determines
2446. how often File Manger checks open folders for broken links.
2447. The default is 180 seconds.
  2448. <idx|performace: File Manager|

  2452. ``Dtfile*desktopIcon: [ large | small ]'
2453. <p indent>Specifies the size of the icon images used for objects on
2454. the desktop. The default is ``large''.
  2455. ``Dtfile*direction: [ ascending | descending ]''
2456. <p indent>Specifies the order used when sorting. The default is
2457. ``ascending''. The sorting criteria is determined by the ``order''
  2458. resource.
  2459. ``Dtfile*dirHeight: %%height%%<newline>
  2460. Dtfile*dirWidth: %%width%%''
2461. <p indent>Specifies the default size of a folder view window, where
2462. %%height%% and %%width%% are specified in pixels. The default
2463. height is ``305''; the default width is ``555''. (Related Topics the
  2464. ``appHeight'' and ``appWidth'' resources, above.)
  2465. ``Dtfile*fileManagerIcon: %%filename%%''
2466. <p indent>Specifies the icon to display when a File Manager window
2467. is minimized. The default value is ``home.i.bm''.
  2468. ``Dtfile*grid: [ on | off ]''
2469. <p indent>Specifies whether or not to use a grid to arrange icons
2470. within a folder view. If set ``on'', icons are automatically
2471. arranged in a sorted grid. If set ``off'', icons are left exactly

2493. <p indent>Specifies where objects are placed on the desktop when
2494. the Put On Desktop command is used. Values for %%primary%% and
2495. %%secondary%% include ``top'' (arrange icons top to bottom),
2496. ``bottom'' (arrange icons bottom to top), ``left'' (arrange icons

2498. <p indent>The default value is ``top right'', which causes icons
2499. to be placed in the top-right corner of the screen, then stacked
2500. down the right edge as additional objects are placed on the
  2501. desktop.
2502. <p indent>This resource is ignored if you drop an object on the
2503. desktop, because the location is determined when you drop. (See
  2504. <xref ToPutAnObjectOnTheDesktopTA>.)
  2505. ``Dtfile*openDir: [ new | current ]''
  2506. <p indent>Specifies the criteria for opening a folder on a
2507. double-click. The default value of ``current'' opens the new
2508. folder in the current window.
2509. <p indent>The value ``new'' causes File Manager to open a new view
2510. for each folder. It also restricts itself so that only a single
2511. view of each folder can be created. If the view already exists
2512. but is not visible, File Manager ensures that it is visible by
2513. bringing it to the current workspace (if necessary) and raising it
2514. to the top of the window stack.
  2515. ``Dtfile*order: [ file_type | alphabetical | date | size ]''
2516. <p indent>Specifies the criteria for sorting objects. The
2517. direction of the sort is determined by the ``direction'' resource.
2518. <p indent>Sorting occurs automatically the first time a folder
2519. is displayed. If the ``grid'' resource is set ``on'', then the
2520. folder is sorted each time a change is made to the folder.
2521. If the grid is off, then sorting occurs only when you choose the
  2522. View&bigrightarrow;Clean Up command.
2523. The default value is ``alphabetical''.
  2524. ``Dtfile*rereadTime: %%seconds%%''
2525. <p indent>Specifies the time interval that determines how often
2526. File Manager checks the displayed folders for changes. The
  2527. default is 10 seconds.
  2528. <p indent>If ``rereadTime'' is set to ``0'' (zero), File Manager
2529. does not automatically refresh folders. To update a File
2530. Manager view, you must choose the Update command from
  2531. the View menu
2532. or double-click the current folder icon (just left of
  2533. the current folder path).
  2534. ``Dtfile*restrictMode: [ True | False ]''
2535. <p indent>Specifies whether or not you can navigate out of your
2536. home folder. The default is ``False''.
  2537. ``Dtfile*rootTitle: %%string%%''
  2538. <p indent>Specifies a title to be displayed when a File Manager
2539. view is displaying the root folder (``/''). The default is
2540. ``ROOT''. The string is also used to identify the root folder
2541. if it is placed on the desktop.
  2542. ``Dtfile*showFilesystem: [ True | False ]''
2543. <p indent>Specifies whether or not to display the current folder
2544. header. The default is ``True'', which shows the path.
  2545. ``Dtfile*smallIconHeight: %%height%%<newline>
  2546. Dtfile*smallIconWidth: %%width%%''
2547. <p indent>Specifies the maximum size of a small icon, where
2548. %%height%% and %%width%% are specified in pixels.
  2549. ``Dtfile*title: %%string%%''
2550. <p indent>Specifies a title for File Manager windows. By default,
2551. this resource is not set, which causes each File Manager to use the
2552. current folder name as its title.
  2553. ``Dtfile*treeFiles: [ never | always | choose ]''
2554. <p indent>Controls whether files may be displayed in the folder
2555. tree mode. The possible values correspond to the options under
2556. By Folder Tree in the Show box in the Set View Options dialog box.
  2557. <lablist>
2558. ever\ Files are never displayed. You may toggle between
2559. two folder states: partially expanded (folders
2560. only) and fully contracted. This value is the same as the
  2561. Folders only option.
2562. \always\ Files are always displayed. You may toggle between
2563. two folder states: fully expanded and fully contracted.
2564. This value is the same as the Folders and Files option.
2565. \choose\ Files may or may not be displayed. You may rotate
2566. between three folder states: partially expanded, fully
2567. expanded, and fully contracted. This value is the same as
2568. the Folders, then Files option.
  2569. <\lablist>
  2570. ``Dtfile*treeView: [ on | off ]''
  2571. <p indent>Determines whether files are displayed in single-folder
  2572. mode (``on'') or folder-tree mode (``off'').
  2573. ``Dtfile*view: [ no_icon | small_icon | large_icon | attributes ]''
2574. <p indent>Specifies the style of view used to display a folder.
2575. The default is ``large_icon''. These values correspond to the four
