  1. Long: keepalive-time
  2. Arg: <seconds>
  3. Help: Interval time for keepalive probes
  4. Added: 7.18.0
  5. Category: connection
  6. Example: --keepalive-time 20 $URL
  7. See-also: no-keepalive max-time
  8. ---
  9. This option sets the time a connection needs to remain idle before sending
  10. keepalive probes and the time between individual keepalive probes. It is
  11. currently effective on operating systems offering the TCP_KEEPIDLE and
  12. TCP_KEEPINTVL socket options (meaning Linux, recent AIX, HP-UX and more).
  13. Keepalives are used by the TCP stack to detect broken networks on idle
  14. connections. The number of missed keepalive probes before declaring the
  15. connection down is OS dependent and is commonly 9 or 10. This option has no
  16. effect if --no-keepalive is used.
  17. If this option is used several times, the last one will be used. If
  18. unspecified, the option defaults to 60 seconds.
