  25. .TH CURLOPT_CRLFILE 3 "19 Jun 2014" libcurl libcurl
  26. .SH NAME
  27. CURLOPT_CRLFILE \- Certificate Revocation List file
  28. .SH SYNOPSIS
  29. .nf
  30. #include <curl/curl.h>
  31. CURLcode curl_easy_setopt(CURL *handle, CURLOPT_CRLFILE, char *file);
  32. .fi
  33. .SH DESCRIPTION
  34. Pass a char * to a null-terminated string naming a \fIfile\fP with the
  35. concatenation of CRL (in PEM format) to use in the certificate validation that
  36. occurs during the SSL exchange.
  37. When curl is built to use NSS or GnuTLS, there is no way to influence the use
  38. of CRL passed to help in the verification process.
  39. When libcurl is built with OpenSSL support, X509_V_FLAG_CRL_CHECK and
  40. X509_V_FLAG_CRL_CHECK_ALL are both set, requiring CRL check against all the
  41. elements of the certificate chain if a CRL file is passed. Also note that
  42. \fICURLOPT_CRLFILE(3)\fP will imply \fBCURLSSLOPT_NO_PARTIALCHAIN\fP (see
  43. \fICURLOPT_SSL_OPTIONS(3)\fP) since curl 7.71.0 due to an OpenSSL bug.
  44. This option makes sense only when used in combination with the
  45. \fICURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER(3)\fP option.
  46. A specific error code (\fICURLE_SSL_CRL_BADFILE\fP) is defined with the
  47. option. It is returned when the SSL exchange fails because the CRL file cannot
  48. be loaded. A failure in certificate verification due to a revocation
  49. information found in the CRL does not trigger this specific error.
  50. The application does not have to keep the string around after setting this
  51. option.
