  2. =head1 NAME
  3. nseq - create or examine a netscape certificate sequence
  4. =head1 SYNOPSIS
  5. B<openssl> B<nseq>
  6. [B<-in filename>]
  7. [B<-out filename>]
  8. [B<-toseq>]
  9. =head1 DESCRIPTION
  10. The B<nseq> command takes a file containing a Netscape certificate
  11. sequence and prints out the certificates contained in it or takes a
  12. file of certificates and converts it into a Netscape certificate
  13. sequence.
  14. =head1 COMMAND OPTIONS
  15. =over 4
  16. =item B<-in filename>
  17. This specifies the input filename to read or standard input if this
  18. option is not specified.
  19. =item B<-out filename>
  20. specifies the output filename or standard output by default.
  21. =item B<-toseq>
  22. normally a Netscape certificate sequence will be input and the output
  23. is the certificates contained in it. With the B<-toseq> option the
  24. situation is reversed: a Netscape certificate sequence is created from
  25. a file of certificates.
  26. =back
  27. =head1 EXAMPLES
  28. Output the certificates in a Netscape certificate sequence
  29. openssl nseq -in nseq.pem -out certs.pem
  30. Create a Netscape certificate sequence
  31. openssl nseq -in certs.pem -toseq -out nseq.pem
  32. =head1 NOTES
  33. The B<PEM> encoded form uses the same headers and footers as a certificate:
  34. -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----
  35. -----END CERTIFICATE-----
  36. A Netscape certificate sequence is a Netscape specific form that can be sent
  37. to browsers as an alternative to the standard PKCS#7 format when several
  38. certificates are sent to the browser: for example during certificate enrollment.
  39. It is used by Netscape certificate server for example.
  40. =head1 BUGS
  41. This program needs a few more options: like allowing DER or PEM input and
  42. output files and allowing multiple certificate files to be used.
