#106 Availability of the final 1.50 version.-

Some days ago there was the 1.50 version available for downloading in the Release section. In fact, I installed it in a Netgear WNDR 3800 using sysupgrade -F -n in order to jump to the new ath79 platform.

Nevertheless, that release has disappeared and we can see the usual RC versions.

Are there any stability or security reason for this? Do I have to flash again or I could keep in this version?

Greetings.

v1.5 has not been released yet. It was going to be released on January 1st and has been delayed because of a few bugs. The first was a non-existent ntp server being set (which has been fixed). The second is a serious OverlayFS bug on the WNDR37/800. Until this bug is addressed, the WNDR37/800 is going to be held back on the ar71xx target, since it works. New images are being built now. To revert back to using the the ar71xx images, you are going to need to manually upgrade using sysupgrade -F and make sure to use the sysupgrade.bin image. As always all previous images can be found in the archive

After more testing, the bug might not be as serious as stated before. After upgrading from v1.4.8, the initial flash erase may take longer than expected and the router might need to be restarted after the erase is done. When I initially responded, the issue appeared on both WNDR3800's that I use for testing.

The images built yesterday with the ntp server fix have been linked back. If you have any other issues with v1.5, please file them against this issue. It would be helpful.
