libreCMC v1.5.15

Changelog:

The libreCMC project is proud to announce the availability of libreCMC v1.5.15. This release of libreCMC provides various fixes, including:

  • linux-libre-4.14.334
  • wolfssl 5.6.6

This marks the final release in the v1.5.x series and is being released along side libreCMC v6.0. The v6.x series will be designated the next LTS release of libreCMC with the release of v6.1 on April 2nd. Additional notes and documentation for upgrading will be found in the v6.0 release notes when available.

Important Notes

Upgrading from libreCMC < v1.5.14

Upgrading from versions older than v1.5.14 requires a clean install of libreCMC; it's suggested that a backup of the device's configuration is made and "keep settings" is unchecked in luci when uploading a v1.5.15 image. When restoring older configurations from older versions of libreCMC, it's important that uhttpd.crt and uhttpd.key files are removed from the backup tarball before restoring it. Failure to do this will result in uhttpd not starting and thus luci, the web UI, will not work.

If luci (the web-ui) does not start after upgrade or configuration restoration

ssh into the router and remove uhttpd.crt and uhttpd.key from /etc and restart the router. Optionally, the router can be reset if one follows the generic Router reset instructions.

Upgrading from v1.5.x to v6.x

libreCMC v6.x is a major release of libreCMC and is based upon upstream's 23.05 branch. Because this is a major release, configurations from previous versions of libreCMC may not be compatible; using these without changes could result in a brick in some edge cases, which is why a clean install is needed. Please thoroughly read the v6.x release notes before attempting to upgrade any device to v6.x.
