I run a 1043nd at home as my 'daily driver' for all things networking at home, including wireless. I have been using LibreCMC for quite a few versions now, so can't comment on a 'fresh' install. I too am using the latest 1.4.3 release, reported as "libreCMC Frivolous Fred v1.4.3 r177+1-a0f7c6d / LuCI branch (git-18.092.20722-fd84a00)" on the Overview tab. Can you please confirm the version you are using? Happy to help/answer questions where I can.
